Put a Horsefeather in your hat

Wearing your Horsefeather

The Horsefeather stem slides under the hatband. Hold the fern by the tape and gently slide it under the hatband or ribbon so the disc lays flat on your hat. H up! A toothpick helps.

Sizes

You can sort the stems by size in the shop.

Small: Under 5” will sit below the top of the crown. It is made for low profile crowns and thin hatbands. Styles: Gambler, Open Road

Medium: Over 5” can rise above the top of the crown or lay flat. It works best with medium size hatbands. Styles: Open Road, Rancher, most vintage hats.

Large: Over 6” will sit below the top of crown or lay flat. Best for wide hatbands and ribbons. Styles: Cattleman, Gus, Gallon

Left or right side?

Traditionally, the Horsefeather stem lives on the left side of your hat and curves right. If the stem curves to the left, it will look best on the right side of your hat.

The nature of real ferns

The stems are made from real, sustainable ferns that have been preserved. Sourced from all over the world, they come as they are. Just like us. We like to see nature for what it is, beautifully imperfect.

Keep your Horsefeather out of the rain. They aren’t water resistant.
